SGNA Annual Course Scholarship

SGNA Annual Course Scholarships have been established to financially assist SGNA members with attendance at the SGNA Annual Course. Grants of will be awarded each spring to those members who meet the established criteria. The number and amount of grants awarded will depend upon funds available.

SGNA First Time Attendee Scholarship

The SGNA First Time Attendee Scholarship has been established to financially assist newer SGNA members (less than two years of membership) with attendance at their first SGNA Annual Course.  The scholarship is geared towards people who are new to the GI/Endoscopy field to give them a chance to experience the Annual Course and all it has to offer. Grants will be awarded each spring to those members who meet the established criteria. The number and amount of grants awarded will depend upon funds available.

SGNA RN Advancing Education Scholarship

The SGNA RN Advancing Education Scholarship has been established to financially assist SGNA members to pursue their nursing education. Funds of $2000 for a full time student or $1000 to a part time student (taking a minimum of three credit hours per semester) will be presented to the recipient(s) of this scholarship. This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship. Grants of will be awarded each spring to those members who meet the established criteria. The number and amount of grants awarded will depend upon funds available.

Advanced Associates Program Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded on a bi-annual basis and the deadlines for submission are March 1 and October 1.

SGNA Advanced Associates Program Scholarships have been established to financially assist SGNA associate/technician members and non-members with purchasing the Advanced Associates Program. The purpose of this program is to provide an associate/technician with the opportunity to further their knowledge base in the field of GI/endoscopy. Technicians and associates are able to earn a higher level of recognition as an Advanced GI Technical Specialist (AGTS) by successfully completing the Advanced Associates Program. The program is not an official certification but does help enforce the associate/technician’s commitment to the GI/endoscopy profession. Scholarships covering the cost of the Advanced Associates Program will be awarded quarterly to those members and non-members who meet the established criteria. The number of scholarships awarded will depend upon funds available.

Associates Program Scholarship

The Associates Program is not an official certification but does help enforce the associate/technician commitment to the GI/endoscopy profession. Scholarships covering the cost of the Associates Program will be awarded quarterly to those members and non members who meet the established criteria. The number of scholarships awarded will depend upon funds available.

SGNA Empowering GI Professional Diversity Scholarship

SGNA is excited to introduce The Empowering Diversity in the GI Profession Scholarship, a new scholarship program intended to increase diversity and inclusion within the GI profession. This scholarship provides financial support to SGNA members from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations and or/those who have been impacted by disability. 

SGNA members who are currently working in the gastroenterology specialty will receive financial support to assist with their continued education and advancement.

The scholarship program, which is supported by Boston Scientific Corporation, is focused on increasing diversity and inclusion within the GI profession. Funds can be used to cover tuition or registration costs, study materials, textbooks or other expenses related to education.
