This fun and interactive educational offering is sure to jump start your SGNA experience. This “world famous” session will discuss basic principles and properties of electrosurgery, along with variables in the clinical circuit. Argon plasma coagulation history and technique will also be discussed. The bridge between the use of electrosurgery, argon plasma coagulation and Cryo technology in both GI and the Pulmonary arena will be covered.
One (1.0) contact hour will be issued for each participant for the live presentation. Each attendee will also be given the opportunity to receive four (4.0) additional FREE contact hours upon completion of self study guides - Electrosurgery in GI Endoscopy and Argon Plasma Coagulation in Flexible Endoscopy
Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. Attendance will be limited to 150 people and seats fill up fast, so don’t delay. As a registered attendee, you need to be present and sign in at 5:00, at which time we will begin to allocate slots to those on the wait list.

Management of the Patient with Obesity (Boston Scientific)

Obesity is a global pandemic affecting about 40% of adults in the United States. This disease is not curable, but it can be managed via medical, surgical and endoscopic therapy, in an attempt to achieve optimal outcomes of decreased co-morbidity and increased longevity. In this 1-hour CNE activity, the speaker will present information on aspects of obesity and various treatment options. Participants will be able to advocate for the obese patient in the healthcare procedural environment, supporting surgical and endoscopic procedures with an emphasis upon promotion of patient safety.
LEARNER OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify three diseases associated with obesity.
- Discuss two endoscopic procedural concerns for the obese patient.
- Differentiate surgical and endoscopic treatment options for managing obesity.
CONTACT HOURS
Upon completion of the entire program, including any resulting Q&A, and submission of required documentation, participants will be granted 1 contact hour. No partial credit will be granted.
