Recorded at the SGNA 35th Annual Course
Many patients cared for in settings such as endoscopy and GI clinics are referred for interventional radiology procedures such as hepatic artery embolization, radiofrequency ablation, or transhepatic cholangiagram. The purpose is to educate the GI nurse to what the procedure entails as well as the preparation and post care of the patient. Pictorials and indications of GI related interventional radiology procedures are included. Knowledgeable, confident nurses can positively affect the patient's procedure tolerance.
