This session discusses difficult esophageal manometry data acquisition and the assessment of waveform patterns. Achalasia and hiatal hernia waveforms and probe placement are covered as well as how to determine when the probe is coiled in the esophagus or pharynx. Techniques to improve the procedure and patient compliance in regards to patient comfort, probe insertion, and environment are also discussed.
