Capsule endoscopy is becoming more essential in the assessment of small bowel and esophageal disorders. The effectiveness of capsule endoscopy in the evaluation of small bowel disease and anemia of unknown etiology is demonstrated using slides and case studies. The nurses' role in patient preparation and capsule administration will be reviewed ensuring educational opportunity for those with or without prior capsule endoscopy experience. This presentation will allow for a look inside capsule endoscopy and its future in the management of patient care.
