Identify Your Knowledge and Skills
Are you planning to take the Certifying Board of Gastroenterology Nurses
and Associates (CBGNA) Certification Exam, but unsure of how to prepare?
Becoming certified is no small feat. The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses
and Associates, Inc., (SGNA), has designed a course for you. The
Certification Preparation Course will help to prepare the experienced GI
nurse for the exam by offering a one and a half day course dedicated to
helping you pass with flying colors!
Certification is necessary in order to remain competitive in GI nursing
today. Certified nurses can expect to earn more money and survive cutbacks
in addition to expanding their role in providing patient services. When you
take the course you will gain knowledge about your practice that will allow
you to become comfortable with the material on the exam. You will walk away
from the course with confidence in your test-taking abilities as well as a
workbook for further practice on your own.
Certification validates your commitment to GI nursing, reflects your
commitment to your field and rewards your continuing efforts to improve your
professional knowledge and skills.
Course Content
The Certification Preparation Course will provide an overview of the
areas covered on the exam and suggest resources for further study. Though
clinical content will not be reviewed in detail, this course will help
participants identify their knowledge, strengths and weaknesses, and assist
them in preparing a study plan. Case studies will be incorporated to
emphasize key concepts and test-taking strategies will be included. The
course is divided into five areas of concentration.
